Sunday Night Dinner
By tk77mann from Northwest Suburbs, January 5, 2010
We took our family for a recent Sunday night dinner at Deleece. We had not been there for a few months but the experience was still very positive. Very good quality food cooked well with good service at a great price.
The teriyaki glazed salmon with black rice was, as always, cooked to perfection. We were going to pass on desserts but the warm apple crisp a la mode was just like homemade.
On street parking was available close by, which is always nice in the city. The city does not realize they are driving away suburbanites by making parking harder and more expensive, but that is another post on another site for another day.
We like the home-style feel and food of Deleece a lot and like to go there for a relaxed, comfortable meal with good people serving it up.
fabulous experience for visitors from out-of-town

On November 1, my family and I were in for a dinner after the Browns vs. Bears game. My wife and I live in Cleveland and by brother-in-law brought us to Deleece before we drove out of town. We were a party of 5 and were the first table sat that evening, having gotten there right at 5pm. I have been in the restaurant industry for 15 years, cooking and managing, and it is rare that i actually write letters, but this was special service! Unfortunately, I do not remember our server's name, but look back at your schedule, and you can find out. The service was fabulous! She was very informed on the menu and gave her great, detailed opinions when asked of them. The bussers were prompt with water/bread/clearing dishes while remaining unobtrusive. The food was very well done (I had the stuffed pork and the cauliflower soup but we all passed around tastes of all the dishes)! Everything we tried was elegantly presented while not being pretentious, cooked with precision, and seasoned perfectly. It is not often that I find prepared food that seasoned well. I look forward to coming back whenever our next trip to visit the family occurs! Thank you very much!
FANTASTIC!

You have got to go to Delecce. I feel like it's an often overlooked or forgotten gem in this city. I have been to Deleece 3 or 4 times and have never been disapointed. The ambiance is very cozy... exposed brick walls and dim lighting... it's a nice place to go for a romantic meal or a great girls night destination. They have a decent wine list, though a bottle of wine I often buy at Binny's for $15 was $34 here... so stick witih the less expensive wines. The staff is all friendly and helpful. They are on the ball as far as refilling water and checking in on your meal, but I've never felt rushed out the door, even when the restuarant is crowded. And the food. Oh, the yummy food! I've been here for brunch and for dinner. I've had lamb chops which was wonderful. And most recently I ordered the caramelized chilean salmon- I think it changed my life. It was FANTIASTIC! It's such a popular dish that they never rotate it off the menu. And I can see why! And as for dessert, I've had their warm apple crisp wiith ice cream twice and I promise it melts in your mouth. You owe it to yourself to visit Deleece- you'll fall in love like I did!
Yum, yum, yum!

This restaurant is really, really good. It's a great place for a date or a nice, low key spot to take Mom and Dad when they are in town. It is a little pricey but the food is fabulous and definately worth the money. It's fresh and falvorful and you can tell that they take care with each dish that comes out of the kitchen. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Enjoy!
Twice in one weekend!

This place is amazing. The food is great and the staff is top notch. I had scheduled a cast party here for Friday night and the experience was so good that I came back for dinner on Sunday. They truly understand what good service is all about and every bit of food has been delicious. If you have not been there, GO! (try the cherry cake, too!)
Can't Stay Away for Brunch (or anything else)

Deleece is without question my favorite neighborhood spot in the city, and I can't think of anywhere I'd rather be for a tasty, casual, eclectic brunch. I make my own bloodies, and can't hold a candle to their mix. Going on from there, it's always painful to actually decide on the meal because I have to bypass all the other dishes. I'm particularly fond of the eggs benedict and french toast (that, and the friendly, not-too-bothersome, hovering servers you see in some restaurants). Hats off to the owners, chef and wait-staff... they please the palate and the wallet every single time.
